Ziploc Bag Sensory Project

As a former teacher, and mom to four loud boys, I truly understand the need for quiet play activities. My students and my boys loved sensory bottles and buckets. And, they loved helping me create new Ziploc Bag Sensory Projects. This would also be a great activity to bring on a road trip to give little hands something to do to prevent boredom.

I used gallon sized freezer bags to make our sensory activities. They are more sturdy than storage bags, and the larger size makes it easier for small hands to practice fine motor skills. Before you fill the bags, use rubbing alcohol to remove the label on the bag.

Next, add the hair gel and any add ins into the bag. If you want your little ones to work on counting, add small beads or smooth pebbles to the bag. However, you can just add the gel and food coloring and glitter if you want your little one to work on their writing skills.

Then, use duct tape to secure the bag closed.

You can be done now, or you can use more duct tape to secure the bag to a piece of foam core. You can leave a side untaped too. Then, you can slide printable tracing sheets to behind the Ziploc bag for your little one to work on.
