As a teacher and a mother, winter crafts were always a little bit of a struggle. I live in Central Florida, so it was hard to make snow crafts with little ones that have never seen snow. But, we loved to imagine being in a snow filled Winter wonderland. And, this Winter Trees Art Project was always one of my favorite projects to hang on our class bulletin board.
Winter Trees Art
We also have a lovely painted winter trees art project based on the art of Georgia O’Keefe for multiple ways to approach this subject!
Snowy Tree Art Project:
- Blue construction paper.
- White card stock paper.
- Scissors.
- Paint brush.
- 3D Foam tape.
- Glue.
- Optional white craft paint.
This Winter trees art project is best for older pre-school and elementary school aged children. Although, a more intricate version would be great for older crafters too.

Let’s get started on this cute little craft project! First, gather all of your supplies. This will make crafting a lot easier.
Begin by cutting tree shapes and hills or mountains from the white card stock. Be sure to cut larger and smaller trees too.The smaller trees will need to go in the back of this project. Then, the larger trees will be placed in the front.
Next, lay out the winter tree scene. Place the hills or mountains on the construction paper. Then, layer the trees on the hills. Place the larger trees in the front, and the smaller trees in the back.
Glue the back layer onto the blue construction paper. Next, use craft foam tape to secure the next layer on to the first. Then repeat as many times as you need to create this Winter wonderland.
Finally, you can dot white craft paint snowflakes all over the whole project. Create several different snowflake sizes for added dimension too!
