Silk Flower Barrette Craft

For her third birthday, Dot got the cutest silk flower barrettes.  They were so adorable, in fact, that I immediately had to “borrow” them.  Imagine my surprise when I looked at them a little more closely and realized they would take about 15 seconds to make!  So, if you’re a little girl inviting Dot to a birthday party any time soon, you can go ahead and expect these.

Plus, I have to add that these would make fantastic Christmas or other gifts that kids can make!

What you need for this barrette craft:

  • Silk flowers
  • Felt
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue
  • Barrette clips

To put the pieces together, open the barrette and insert the felt, glue-side down.  Then press that against the back of the flower.

Here’s our sweet friend Kendall on her fifth birthday wearing one of the silk flower barrettes we made for her:

Happy birthday, Kendall!

Happy birthday, Kendall!

We used two flowers and some leaves on hers!
