Quick and Easy Puppy Dog Ears for Your Preschooler to Wear

As I may have mentioned before, my almost-four-year old simply assumes that I can make whatever it is she happens to think of at any given moment.  Sometimes, of course, it’s impossible.  Other times, a little creative thinking and some basic craft supplies get us where we need to be.  A couple of weeks ago, she got it in her head that she wanted “doggie ears,” so I came up with a quick and dirty craft to make that a reality.

What you’ll need to make this dog ear craft project:

  • Felt
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Headband

At our local dollar store, I can buy 7 plastic headbands for $1.  I keep a bunch on hand for all kinds of crafts and costume elements, such as the piggy ears we made last summer.

Personally, I would have embellished this scrap craft by adding white or pink felt in the middle, but my daughter insisted this is how she wanted them.

She loves them. It’s been a couple of months, and she still asks to wear them on an almost daily basis!
