We are entering one of my favorite times of the year as a teacher and a parent. The next few seasons are filled with wide eyed wonder and excitement! The kids are excited for Halloween, and then Thanksgiving and the break from school to spend time with family, and finally the Winter holidays. And, these seasons always pass too quickly, so we start crafting and celebrating as soon as possible. And this darling little Paper Plate Witch Mask Project is one of the first crafts we will make this season!

My mom and sister are still teaching in a classroom everyday. And even though I stopped working outside of the home when my oldest son was born, I still love to create holiday crafts. Thankfully, I am able to help my mom and sister with some of their classroom crafts and projects, and then I can share their favorites with you all here! They love to make paper plate crafts. They are so versatile, and the kiddos love to make fun masks with them!

Let’s get started on this Paper Plate Witch Mask Project!
Begin by cutting out the middle of the paper plate.
Then, paint the remaining part of the paper plate green.
Now, sketch and cut out a fun witch hat shape with the black construction paper. I also cut a little strip of orange paper and a black buckle to the hat for visual interest. Once I cut those out, I glued them onto the hat and waited for the paint to finish drying on the paper plate. (You may need to trim the edges to fit the shape of the hat) I was wishing I could have figured out how to make a cute little spider to hang off the tip of the hat. How cute would that be?!
After the green paint was fully dry, I glued the hat onto the paper plate. If you have straw you could glue it on around the hat for hair.
