Supplies:
- Paper bags
- Patterned scrapbook paper
- Plain scrapbook paper
- Letter stickers
- Ribbon
- Hole punch
- Washi tape
- Adhesive roller
- Pens and markers
- Paper cutter
Your supplies may be different from mine, just use what you have! Use your imagination!
Start by layering your paper bags on top of each other, with the folded bottoms facing towards you and alternating. Then fold the bags in half all together, and use your hole punch to punch three holes near the fold.

Then just cut three pieces of ribbon, string them through the holes, and tie them in a double knot. Your main book base is done! So quick and simple. Then you just need to measure your “pages” to see what size of paper to cut. This will depend on the size of bags you get, so it’ll be different for everyone. Cut a piece of patterned paper so it’s at least 1/8 of an inch smaller than your page on each side.
Put some adhesive on the back, and press it in place. Now just take your letter stickers and title your book.
I also added a little top and bottom border with some glitter washi tape. Now all you’re going to do is keep cutting different patterned papers and attaching them to your pages.
When you get to a page that has a bottom flap, just glue it down flat.

And put your paper right on top. Take note that there are little pockets formed by the open tops of the bags. You can either glue these shut, or leave them open and tuck more notes or little things into them. Go ahead and do the patterned paper on all the pages of your book.
And don’t forget the back too! Now you just need to add your quotes! You can print out quotes if you prefer, or you can write them by hand like I did. Cut different sizes and shapes of coordinating plain scrapbook paper, and then write your quotes on them with pencil first. When you’re happy with how they look, go over them with pen. Try using different types of handwriting to make your quotes really unique. Let the pen dry for at least 20 minutes, and then go in and erase any pencil marks that are showing.
All you need to do now is to glue your quotes into your book! And if you want, you can decorate the pages with more washi tape or any cute stickers or decorations you may have in your craft supplies.
You can either add all your quotes at once, or add them one at a time as you find new ones that you love! I hope you enjoy making your own Paper Bag Positive Thoughts Book!
