Painting Project:

  • Construction paper or cardstock.
  • Glue.
  • Scissors.
  • Craft paint.

This sweet little New Year’s Painting Project is the perfect activity for little ones of all ages. You may need to pre-cut the construction paper for toddlers, but elementary school age children should be able to do the entire project on their own with very little help.  This is a great project to repeat each year too.

Let’s get started on this cute little craft project! First, gather all of your supplies. This will make crafting a lot easier.

Begin by cutting out three number twos from construction paper. Older kids can work on their fine motor skills and cut out the numbers by themselves.

Next, glue the numbers to a full sheet of construction paper or cardstock. Be sure to leave enough space between the first and second number to fit your little one’s hand print.

Now, paint your little one’s hand. You may need to help them place their hand on the paper between the first and second numbers. Their handprint will be the zero in the year 2022.

Finally, have your little one write their name on the bottom of their project so you will always know how small their hand was in 2022!
