Supplies:

  • Decorative card stock.
  • White card stock OR clean edge business cards.
  • Paper cutter or scissors and a ruler.
  • Adhesive dot roller.
  • Black pen.
  • Washi tape.
  • Fun colored markers or gel pens for your guests to write on the place cards.

Start by cutting out your white card stock into 2 inch by 3.5 inch rectangles. Or, you can use clean edge business cards to save yourself a lot of time! I always keep blank business cards on hand, so that’s what I used. You’ll need two cards per place card you want to make. Next, cut your decorative card stock into a 4 inch by 5 inch rectangle, and fold it in half. This will leave a 1/4 inch border around your white cards.

Roll your adhesive onto the back of your white cards, and glue them down onto both sides of your folded card.

Use your washi tape to decorate the left side edges of the white cards. You could also use themed stickers or even adhesive rhinestones for a really fancy place card. On one side at the top, write “I am thankful for…” in small letters. On the other side, write your guests name. Your part is all done! Now just set your place cards on the table, and have cute gel pens or markers available for your guests to write down what they’re thankful for. This is a great conversation starter at tables where you may have new faces, and a fun way to get your guests involved.

Don’t forget the kids table! You can set out stickers to let the kids decorate their own place cards, which will help keep them busy until the food is served.

I hope you have fun making this I am Thankful For… Place Card Craft!
