When I was a teacher, I loved using my little ones’ hand prints to make gifts for their parents. Each year for Valentine’s Day, we would paint their hands and create a handprint heart. And, a recent trip to my local dollar store reminded of this sweet DIY Heart Handprint Craft! You could also use this project as a friendship memento. Or have siblings both add their handprints for a year-round family gift.

- Craft paint in red and pink, or make pink by mixing red and white.

This is such a fun way for your little ones to make a sweet Valentine’s Day gift their parents will love. We love keepsake crafts like this that can be a gift for family or grandparents, and also is a little snapshot in time of how little our children are!

Let’s get started on this darling DIY Heart Hand Print Plaque! First, gather all of your supplies. This will make crafting a lot easier.
If you are using chipboard or paper for this project, cut out a heart shape slightly larger than your little ones hands.
Now, you can paint the heart shaped plaque or chipboard if you want.
Then, paint your little one’s hands.
Next, carefully place one painted hand on the plaque. Then, lift it straight up. Repeat with the other hand, or other’s person’s hand to make heart shape.
