We are Harry Potter freaks! But these pumpkin stencils?! Drawing these were challenging. Carving them will be even more difficult. These are ADVANCED carving patterns! I’m used to drawing up simpler pumpkin carving outlines – not this double-layered style where you carve part of the design out from just the skin of the pumpkin. Though I have to say I’m totally hooked now and can’t wait to go out and grab a pumpkin to try them out!
Suffice it to say that the first two pumpkin carvings of Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort are not for the “impatient-types”. You can see someone’s fantastic results of carving the Voldemort template here. The last two HP logo style patterns are much less intimidating!
Could you tell me what you used to carve the “skin” of the pumpkin? I was thinking of a potato peeler, but the harry potter face pattern is so detailed, I don’t think it would work.

That’s a great question, Winona. I was going to carve one of these this weekend with my Dremel tool, but that might not be a tool everyone has. A chisel would also work well, though!
