I just love baking for holidays, but I’m just too busy to make things from scratch lately. So one of my favorite things to make are these Easy Valentine’s Day Whoopie Pies, because they’re so fast and don’t require special supplies or advanced baking skills. They look really impressive though, and my kids love them! Plus they’re an easy first project for kids who are learning how to bake. Here’s what you’ll need!
Easy Valentine’s Day Whoopie Pies
Supplies:
- A cookie mix! I love this one, because it tastes very close to homemade, but any kind works.
- Frosting. I did half mine with a bright pink vanilla, and the other half with chocolate.
- Vegetable oil and an egg (if your cookie mix calls for it)
- Sprinkles.
- Decorating bag and piping tip (optional, but makes filling the cookies easier).
- Measuring spoons, spatula, baking sheet, and mixing bowl.
- Oven.
Start by preheating your oven to the temperature on your cookie mix. The correct temperature for mine was 325º F. You’re going to start by prepping your cookie mix according to the directions on the package. Mine called for adding water, oil, and an egg, so I added those in.

Then mix it all together. Some cookie mixes don’t require you to add anything, and can just be scooped out. Now drop your cookie mix onto your baking sheet by rounded teaspoonfuls.
Bake them according to the directions on the bag or box, and let them cool completely. Mine took about 8 minutes. While they’re cooling, cut the tip off your decorating bag and drop in your piping tip. Then fill the bag with your frosting of choice. You can also choose to put your frosting on your cookies with a spoon if you don’t have decorating bags and piping tips around your house. Line up your cookies in pairs, trying to match them according to size.
Take one of your cookies, and on the flat side, pipe a generous amount of frosting. The place another cookies on top like shown. That’s how you make a whoopee pie! Now, take your sprinkles and place them into a shallow bowl or plate.
Take your whoopee pie, and roll the frosted edges in the sprinkles to coat them. Now, you just have to make a bunch more! I love how easy these are to make, and you can adjust these for any holiday by changing the frosting color and sprinkles. I hope you had fun learning how to make these Easy Valentine’s Day Whoopie Pies!
