Supplies:

  • Paper bowl
  • Yellow pipe cleaners
  • Googly eyes
  • Black paint
  • Yellow paint
  • Black marker
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun

Start by cutting off the rim of your paper bowl so it sits flat on your work surface. Then you’re going to go ahead and paint it yellow, and let it dry completely.

Now here’s the really fun part! All those cute little stripes? Are fingerprints! Set some glue onto an extra paper plate or a paint palette, dip your finger in, and make stripes by setting your fingerprints right next to each other all the way across the top of the bowl.

Make sure to leave plenty of clear yellow space on the front for the face. Keep adding stripes all the way to the back. Next you’re going to glue on your googly eyes and draw on a cute mouth.

To make wings for your honeybee, take a pipe cleaner and bend it so the ends cross over each other by about an inch. Twist them together. Do this for both pipe cleaners. Take the twisted part and fold it in half so it’s shorter.

It should look like this.Add some hot glue to the thick end section we just made, and glue it to the back of your honeybee with the wing pointing towards the side and back like shown. Do the same with the second wing.
