100 Days of School Art Project Gum Ball Machine

As a former teacher, I love the 100th Day of School. When I was in the classroom, we would have a small party and enjoy everything in quantities of 100. This fun 100 Days of School art project is one of my favorites, and it’s super easy for kids of every age! Let’s learn how to make this adorable finger print bubble gum machine project and celebrate 100 days of learning!

100 Days of School Art Project

Supplies:

  • 1 Sheet of White Construction Paper.
  • 1/2 Sheet of Red Construction Paper.
  • Scraps of Black Construction Paper.
  • Scissors
  • Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue Paint – Craft, Acrylic, or Tempera Paint.
  • 2 Dessert Size Paper Plates. 
  • Pencil.
  • Black Sharpie.
  • Glue or Glue Stick.
  • Baby wipes or wet paper towel to clean fingers between colors.

After you gather your supplies, use the pencil to trace the paper plate in the middle of the sheet of white construction paper.

Then, use the paper plate as a paint palette. Add a small amount of each color paint onto the plate.

Next, dip your index finger or thumb into one paint color and add 25 gum balls. Use a wipe to clean finger tip, and repeat the first step with each color.

While the paint dries, cut out the base of the gum ball machine with the red construction paper. Use the clean paper plate as a guide for the top of the machine where it connects with the gum ball machine globe.

Place the bottom of the gum ball machine under the machine globe with a glue stick or school glue.

Then, cut a semi-circle/rectangle piece from the black construction paper. Now, glue that onto the base of the gum ball machine in the middle.

Once all the paint and glue has dried, trace the gum ball machine globe with a sharpie.
