Winter Word Puzzles
Now that I’ve gotten up our Christmas word puzzles, I wanted to add a ‘secular’ alternative with these winter word puzzles. These are great for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students – maybe even 6th grade. Compound Words Vocabulary Worksheets
My kids have always seemed to like learning about compound words. It seems to present a fun challenge for them: take two words that are relatively easy to spell, and put them together into a big word – that’s still easy to spell! They also enjoy the idea of matching words together – I think it is because it is a concept they think looks complicated, but then find they can master it and it gives them a huge sense of accomplishment. So I’ve pulled together a list of 11 winter themed compound words, and created three worksheets to teach your students about these fun vocabulary words. They are suitable for kids in 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade.
