The other day I mentioned I was trying to make easy bunny cupcakes. I wanted them to be easy, but not lame. I figured it couldn’t be that hard, and it isn’t. They are almost as easy as my flower cupcake idea.

How to Make Bunny Cupcakes

Honestly, decorating with gummy bunnies is pretty self-explanatory. I put four onto the cupcake and then added an extra dot of white frosting in the middle.

Make Bunny Cupcakes

For the bunny face cupcake, I cut large white marshmallows in half, then in half again so that it was cut in quarters. (You can cut marshmallows with a butter knife or plastic knife, don’t let the big steak knife fool you!)

Place two of the marshmallow quarters onto the cupcake, sticky side down. Place a small pink marshmallow onto the bottom of the bunny face for the nose. I then took a toothpick and dabbed a tiny bit of chocolate syrup on the end, and placed the dots for the bunny eyes. This was my improvisation because I didn’t have any sprinkles or chocolate mini morsels laying around (what kind of cook am I that doesn’t have mini morsels in her kitchen?!).

Dragon Eggs Craft from Hard Boiled Eggs

This awesome craft idea is not my own, so kudos go to Our Best Bites for the idea.  They called theirs dinosaur eggs, but we went with dragon eggs instead because they look so mystical. This might be kind of a fun project to do after reading The Paperbag Princess with your little one.

When your eggs are cool enough to work with, gently crack the shells. It's a good idea to do some bigger cracks and some smaller ones just to make your final dragon eggs look even cooler.

Prepare your food coloring just as you would to die Easter eggs.

Allow your dragon eggs to soak in the dye. We only did ours for an hour or so, but it would be even better if you put them in the fridge to soak overnight.*

*We made our dragon eggs a second time and made the dye much darker and let the eggs soak for about 3 hours.  The colors came out so much more brilliant!

What I Learned the Hard Way:

Like I mentioned above, I would soak the eggs much longer next time to make the lines appear darker once the shells were removed.
